The Ultimate Surf Camp Adventure!

Hi I’m Day

day van der Korput FemmVoyage

I’m Daylee, just call me Day! Born on April 12, 2012, I’m a 13-year-old from Zeeland, the Netherlands, where I live with my mom and our dog Chaxx. This summer marks an exciting new chapter for me as I set off on my first solo adventure at surf camp!

Ever since I was little, I’ve had a deep love for nature, animals, and adventure. Whether it’s rescuing animals, exploring new places, or experiencing both luxury and the wild side of travel, I love embracing everything life throws my way. My mom and I have traveled the world together, but now, for the first time, I’ll be heading off on my own. Surfing, making new friends, sleeping under the stars maybe even experiencing my first summer crush? Who knows!

Join me on this journey as I share all the highs and wipeouts of surf camp, daily stories, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of this amazing experience!

With Love XOXO

Meet Day – Our Little Surfer Girl

Ever since she was a little girl, Day has loved the water. She earned her A, B, and C swimming diplomas by the age of 4 (well, we do live surrounded by water!). It’s no surprise that surfing quickly stole her heart too. Watching her catch her first waves is the coolest thing ever—so brave, so free, and always smiling. Sun, fun, water, and speed? It’s everything she loves. She’s already counting down the days to her next surf camp!

Different Types of Surfing – What’s What?

1. Surfing (Wave Surfing)

This is the classic one! You paddle out with your board, wait for a wave, and ride it back to the shore. Perfect for ocean lovers who love the thrill of riding real waves. Great for kids and teens too—many surf camps focus on this type.

2. Windsurfing

Girl Surfing (wind Surfing)

Think surfing meets sailing! You stand on a board, but there’s also a sail attached. You use the wind to move over the water and even do cool tricks. It’s super fun once you get the hang of balancing both the board and the wind.

3. Kitesurfing (or Kiteboarding)

In kitesurfing, you use a large kite to catch the wind while riding a small board over the water. It’s fast, exciting, and feels like flying! This one is usually for older kids or teens (and adults) because it takes a bit more power and control.

4. Bodyboarding

Instead of standing up, you lie down on a small board and ride the wave toward the shore. It’s perfect for beginners and younger kids—it’s safe, super fun, and a great way to get used to the waves

5. Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP)

Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP)

You stand on a big, stable board and use a paddle to move across the water. It’s calm, peaceful, and also a great workout. You can do it in the ocean, lakes, or rivers. Some surf camps offer SUP yoga too—so zen!

6. Skimboarding

This one starts on the shore. You run toward the water, drop a small board, jump on it, and glide across the thin layer of water. It’s fun and playful—especially for beach days with friends.

So why not try something totally new?

Sometimes the best memories are made when you step out of your comfort zone—into the ocean! Choosing a surf camp isn’t just about learning to ride the waves; it’s about discovering a whole new side of yourself. You meet new friends, laugh a lot, fall off your board (and get right back up!), and spend your days barefoot, sun-kissed, and free.

Whether you’ve never surfed before or you’re already catching little waves, a surf camp is the perfect way to try something totally different, exciting and unforgettable. So grab your board, pack that cute bikini, and get ready for a summer full of sunshine and salty smiles!

Surf your heart out!

3 Days to Go

Three more sleeps. That’s all that’s left before Day zips up her boardbag, slips into her favorite bikini, and runs headfirst into her very first surf camp. Her first camp ever, actually. No parents.

No familiar faces. Just a stretch of salty beach, crashing waves, and a week filled with sun-kissed freedom, fearless fun, and a whole lot of “first times.”

Wind in Your Sails, Sand Beneath Your Wheels

It’s not summer yet, but we’re already getting into the spirit with some exciting beach activities! To kick things off, we hit the wide-open shores for a thrilling session of blokarting. With the wind in our sails and the sand racing beneath us, it’s the perfect way to embrace the adventure that awaits this summer.

Stay tuned as we gear up for even more action-packed experiences leading up to the ultimate surf camp adventure!
