Enjoy Stunning Sunsets and Gourmet Dining at Beach Pavilion Zee

As the summer days start to shorten and the evenings grow cooler, there’s something magical about the final warm nights. Tonight, we find ourselves at the beautiful Restaurant Zee, located on the Brouwersdam. The moment you arrive, you’re greeted by a breathtaking sight: the restaurant stands proudly on high stilts, perched above the water, evoking a Florida-like vibe. The warm breeze gently tousles my hair, carrying with it the mouth-watering aroma of freshly prepared dishes from the terrace.

It’s just before 7 p.m. when we step onto the long pier that leads to the pavilion. There’s already a vibrant atmosphere as groups of friends and couples settle in for the evening. A friendly staff member warmly greets us and escorts us to a cozy table with an unbeatable view of the sea and the glowing horizon, where the sun is slowly beginning to set.

The menu at Zee is vast, offering something for everyone, which makes §deciding on our meal quite the enjoyable challenge. But first things first: we order a round of drinks. I go for a classic Martini, which pairs perfectly with the oysters we decide to try. These aren’t just any oysters—they’re served with a splash of gin, a fresh tangy sauce with a hint of Tabasco, and a slice of lemon.

Now, I have to admit, oysters aren’t usually my go-to. They tend to give me the shivers just thinking about them. But these? Absolutely delightful. The combination of fresh seafood with the zing of gin was the perfect start to our meal.

Next, we indulge in a succulent dish of pork belly with prawns, nestled on a bed of vibrant greens. The rich, savory flavors are balanced beautifully with a touch of the sea. For the main course, I couldn’t resist the spaghetti vongole, a dish that transports you straight to the Italian coast with every bite.

We end the evening with an exquisite vanilla sorbet, drizzled with a luscious strawberry sauce, topped with fresh berries and rich chocolate chunks. Every bite is a sweet reminder of summer’s end.

As the sky fades from soft pinks to deep purples, and the last rays of sunlight dip below the horizon, you’re left with a feeling of pure contentment. The atmosphere at Restaurant Zee is unbeatable—whether it’s the view, the exceptional food, or the relaxed yet lively vibe, it’s the perfect spot to soak up the last moments of a perfect summer evening.
